DECK DREI is a workspace and collective platform connecting creative disciplines in the field of dance and the performing arts. It is a collaborative and shared space with like-minded productive people cultivating the idea of exchange, new ways, try-out and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Irene Accardo
Irene Accardo graduated in 2003 in acting and pantomime in the international acting school “Permis de Conduire” in Rome. Her studies focused on physical theatre with among others Cathy Marchant (living theatre), Mylon Mela (Indian performing arts group) and Tapa Sudana (Balinese mask and movement master). In 2005 she completed her (bachelor) master in literature and philosophy at the 2nd University of Rome with a thesis on Tadeusz Kantor’s work in theatre and visual arts. A few months later she moved to Berlin where she started to work as performer in different projects and developed further her skills in physical theatre. In 2008 she founded her company “Theater machina”, where she developed her own trainings-method. From 2009 until 2011 she lived and studied in Hamburg where she graduated in the master in performance studies; she received classes from, among others, Tim Etchells, Jonathan Burrows, Milli Bitterli, Bojana Kunst, Silke Renners and Angela Guerrero. Her latest works focuses on the question of identity, heritage and storytelling. Alongside her performance projects she teaches voice and physical improvisation for performers.
Saskia Oidtmann (D/NL)
Saskia’s interest lies in the verges between different art forms, especially between dance, installation art and video. The bridge between the forms, how they interlink with each other, how they can be interpreted in the diverse art contexts and how they affect performers and audience, is her investigation focus. Saskia studied dance and choreography at the Laban Centre London (BA (hons) 2005). She also holds a Magister of Film and Theatre studies at the Freie Universität Berlin (2011). Right now she is continuing with her academic and artisic research as a member of the Graduiertenkolleg Sichtbarkeit und Sichtbarmachung at the Universität Potsdam. Raisa Kröger (D)
received her dance education in Berlin (balance1) and finished a further education in choreography at the Tanzfabrik Berlin (Christoph Winkler, Toula Limnaios and Jess Curtis). As a dancer she worked with different artists like Jo Fabian, the wee dance company/Tanzcompany des Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau, Martin Stiefermann, Ilona Pászthy, Isabelle Schad, Özlem Alkis, Juli Reinartz and Friederike Plafki. She showed her own choreographic work in Berlin, Dortmund, Zürich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. Right now she is deepening her physical research in the further education ‘Body Mind Centering & Performance’ (Sarah Menger) and is studying Cultural Studies (philosophy and literature) at the FernUniversität in Hagen. Raisa is part of the production team M.i.C.A.. In 2014 Raise founded the company ‘bücking&kröger’ together with Florian Bücking
Katie Dunbar (UK)
Katie Lee Dunbar from Birmingham, UK, Studied at University of Falmouth (B.A. with Honours, Emphasis in Fine Arts), has traveled considerably and for the past four years resides in Berlin.
Katie Dunbar is a professional Artist and Educator who is currently working in Berlin on a wide range of Art projects. Predominantly working as a performer and Dance artist. She is co-founder of NGinPA collective (normative gaze in performance art) as well as the curator and co-organiser of the Reflektor even series. Including working as an Artist in residence at Muse International School, Berlin.
Katie Dunbar is a versatile artist, whether collaborating with visual artists, composers, musicians, performance artists or dancers. Katie deals with a wide range of themes, she has recently focused on the interplay between sound and performance. Her repertoire includes: dance, voice, installation, moving imagery and performance, with a fascination in expression, space, colour, and light. She is continually investigating the relationship between art, performance, sound and the community.
She has a wealth of experience running International summer camps and working in schools in the United Kingdom and Germany. Most recently Katie has been giving workshops for young people in creative/dance expression, leadership and community building for schools as well as running works shops for Women in Art. Katie is a experienced project co-ordinator she specialises in community building with people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities. www.katieleedunbar.de
Dave Hall (NZ)
is a performance artist and dancer originally from Auckland, New Zealand. His practice is largely based in improvisation, with influences from Body Weather and Butoh. His recent work has been a series of attempts to be honest on stage though he isn’t yet sure what that even means. He has worked with several artists as a dancer, including: Brent Harris, Alyx Duncan, Josh Rutter, Alicia Frankovic and Brydee Rood. In 2007 he formed the company Release Candidate with Josh Rutter which is ongoing though on a break, due to its members living on different continents.
